Helping Hands

"While the spirit of neighborliness was important on the frontier because neighbors were so few, it is even more important now because our neighbors are so many."
--
Lady Bird Johnson

ERRAND RUNNERS.  Tanya Jones of Apple Creek Lane (692-8678) and Beth Packer of Cheryl Drive (699-1677) will run errands, such as picking up groceries or prescriptions, for elderly or homebound Grimesdale residents. They cannot, however, provide transportation services, such as driving residents to doctors' appointments.

PET PALS.  Claire and Laura Packer of Cheryl Drive will provide pet-sitting services to Grimesdale residents. If you need your dog walked, your cat litter box cleaned, or your pets fed and watered, give them a call (698-6366 or 699-1677).

FRESH EGGS.  Shelia Mason of N. Mason Way is offering fresh, free-range eggs at $3.00 per dozen on a first-come, first-served, as-available basis. Call Shelia, Green Meadow Farm, at 692-8423, if you're interested in buying very local, very fresh eggs.

SNOW REMOVAL.  There's no reason to look outside the neighborhood for your snow removal needs. Stay local and call John Mason of N. Mason Way (692-8423). Leave a message, and John will return your call with a fair price for plowing your driveway.

LANDSCAPING SERVICES.  Do you need help maintaining your yard? Look no further than your own neighborhood. Max Whitaker of Magnolia Drive will mow your lawn and provide other minor landscaping services for a reasonable price. Call Max (698-7518) to obtain an estimate and schedule that yard work you've been dreading and avoiding.

TUTORING.  Vivian Wagner of Magnolia Drive tutors elementary students in reading and math. She is specially trained in both subjects and has years of teaching experience. She is currently employed at Etowah Elementary and will be glad to discuss your child's needs with you. MUSIC LESSONS.  Anita Robertson of Cheryl Drive is accepting piano and voice students of all ages. Anita majored in piano and music education in college and has had years of vocal study. A "retired" elementary music teacher, she's interested in helping children discover their singing voices and can provide support for those needing help with recorder. She can also form music groups if enough children express interest. Anita may be reached at 595-2610.

CAREGIVING SERVICES.  Penni Seay of Primrose Drive has been a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) since 2011. She is highly trained and experienced and is Red Cross certified in CPR.
